We, the undersigned organizations and individuals, encourage the Public Service Commission to move forward with as many battery storage projects as possible through the PC9866 docket.
Battery storage is a lifeline for Maryland right now. These low cost and reliable projects have the ability to lower bills, stabilize the grid, and help Maryland transition to a clean energy future. We strongly support exceeding the 800 MW transmission connected battery storage goal for 2026 originally codified in the Next Generation Energy Act of 2025 and approve all of the projects as feasible.
Additionally, we encourage the PSC to find other opportunities to approve more battery storage in the state at every opportunity that presents itself in order to build a sustainable, resilient, and cost-effective energy system for Marylanders.
Sincerely,
