One of the most important climate bills in the nation is in jeopardy because Montgomery County Council President Gabe Albornoz won’t commit to scheduling it for a vote. Bill 13-22 will require new buildings constructed in the county to be all-electric. Furnaces, gas stoves, and other fossil gas appliances in our homes and buildings create climate pollution, health-harming air pollution, and fill our homes with many of the same pollutants as come from tailpipes. Take one minute to email three key Councilmembers and ask them to urge Council President Albornoz to schedule Bill 13-22 for a vote! He needs to hear directly from his colleagues that this is a priority for them. We only have two or three days to convince him before this Council session runs out.
