Get it Done by '31

Any day now Governor Moore, will release his plan for how Maryland will meet its climate goals. That means NOW is our last chance to convince him to make this strong as possible!

Help fight back against fossil fuel industry voices. We all need to send Governor Moore an email telling him that now is the time for bold action to address the climate crisis, not baby steps. Governor Moore needs to do everything necessary to put Maryland on track to hit our goal of a 60% reduction in carbon pollution by 2031.

Dear Governor Moore,

Given your proven commitment to climate action, we are asking that you move ahead this month with the release of your long-awaited plan to achieve Maryland's goal of 60% reduction in carbon pollution by 2031. This plan should include concrete investments in all sectors of the economy with guaranteed funding mechanisms to get the job done.

Thank you for your many successes in addressing the climate crisis in your first year as Governor. Already, under your leadership, Maryland has made historic investments in offshore wind, sped the transition to electric vehicles, made community solar a permanent program, installed leaders committed to climate action in the state agencies and at the PSC, and much more.

Now, we need to continue building on that progress. Your administration must also ensure that the investments and actions needed to achieve Maryland’s 2031 mandate are in place. A fully enacted and funded plan will make Maryland the undisputed national leader in tackling the climate crisis and the myriad inequities it exacerbates, including health disparities and poverty.

We are therefore urging you to provide a strong climate plan that will “get it done by ‘31”.
