Big Oil corporations knew their pollution would harm our communities for DECADES but they kept profiting off the climate crisis. Now we are seeing severe climate-fueled disasters harm our communities. And we are left picking up the pieces, taking care of each other and covering the costs of rebuilding.

Now it's time to make polluters pay.

We are building a grassroots movement of people who are ready to fight back against some of the biggest corporations on the planet. Big Oil companies should pay for the damage they have caused to our communities.  Will you join us in our efforts to Make Polluters Pay?

These petitions will be shared with state legislators to demonstrate support for Make Polluters Pay and climate superfund laws. Key state leaders have the power to shift the economic burden of climate change from us to the corporate giants responsible for climate disasters.

Climate change is here. We face more and more dangerous extreme weather events every year. Last summer, Hurricane Helene inflicted billions of dollars of damage to Southwest Virginia. That comes on the heels of the hottest year on record and several years in a row of devastating flooding in Southwest and across the state. It is the same story in Ellicott City, MD and across the world.

I support holding the fossil fuel companies that contributed the most to the problem responsible for paying to adapt and respond to these costly disasters.
