The fight against dirty and costly data centers has fully arrived in Montgomery County.

A company called Atmosphere Data Centers wants to build a MASSIVE data center at the old Dickerson coal plant site in Montgomery County. The company adamantly refuses to commit to running that data center on clean energy. If approved, the Dickerson data center will trigger at least a million tons of CO2 emissions every year, single-handedly blowing up the County’s climate pollution goals. We're building a movement of opposition. Add your name today!

Sign below to STOP dirty data centers in our County!

We, the undersigned, oppose dirty data centers in Montgomery County.

Only data centers that run on 100% clean energy should be approved. Otherwise, polluting data centers would undercut the County's climate commitments. One proposed 300-megawatt hyperscale data center in Dickerson would increase the entire state of Maryland's CO2 emissions by 2%. It would be like adding over 200,000 dirty cars to our roads. And the company has suggested they may want to build a second 300-megawatt data center on the Dickerson site in the future.

Unless MoCo leaders act, Dickerson data center will emit a million tons of CO2 each year, single-handedly gutting our County’s climate goals.

We say NO to dirty data centers and YES to 100% clean energy!

Sincerely,
