On December 29, 2025, Washington Gas requested a rate increase of $82.5 million. Part of this increase will cover costs associated with the company’s STRIDE program. STRIDE is an ill-conceived Maryland law that makes it easier for gas utilities to get away with wasteful spending that increases profits without delivering the safety improvements it should. We need to fight back!
